Resolved: Congress should enlarge the House of Representatives so each Representative serves about 50,000 people.
We think this is right. We also think an idea worth backing should be able to survive its best opposition. So this isn’t a comment section. It’s a debate.
Every question below has our case, the strongest case against it we can write, and an open floor. Push back. If you land a point we can’t answer, we’ll say so.
Open debates
- Can one person really represent 760,000 people?
- Would a House of 6,600 members actually work?
- Isn’t a bigger House too expensive?
- Why 50,000 — and not 30,000 or 100,000?
Ground rules
- Argue the idea, not the person.
- If you state a fact, give a source.
